Recent research from Post Office Money and property-tech provider, Gazeal, revealed that the fastest-selling properties in the UK are located in Edinburgh and Glasgow. According to the report, Edinburgh tops the board with properties spending just 39 days on the market. Glasgow was not far behind, moving property from ‘for sale’ to ‘sold’ in an average of 48 days.

The latest quarterly housing statistics reported that 8,767 affordable homes were delivered throughout Scotland for the year up to September 2018; a 21% increase on the 7,271 completions during 2017.

According to the latest UK House Price Index for August 2018, the average price of houses in Scotland was £153,309 - 4.1% higher than in the same month last year. Despite the average UK house price also increasing - up 3.2% in the year to August 2018 - the report highlighted that property prices in Scotland are growing at a slightly faster rate.
